June flew by and I did a bit of reading but haven't gotten my act together to post as of late - exhausted from audiobook week! How do daily posters do it?!

A-Z Reading Challenge 2010 - I'm halfway through and we're halfway through the year. Yeah me!
Audiobook Challenge 2010 - More than halfway done - not sweating this one!
Spring Reading Thing 2010 - I had twelve books on my list and I read a dismal 4, only 25%...FAIL! I still need to write my wrap-up post for this one.
Women Unbound - I've read four of the five books and it doesn't end until November - I'm confident this one will get done. Do need to update my challenge post though....
The Chronicles of Narnia Challenge - This one is coming around again - I need to write my start up post (that link is last year's wrap up). The Magician's Nephew is on Youngest's summer reading list for school so I will definitely be reading that one again! Haven't decided what else I want to do.
What's In A Name 3 Reading Challenge - My "to-do" list includes signing up for this one. I missed it last year and know that I want to play this year.
Colorful Reading Challenge 2010 - This is another one I want to join but am running a little late! 9 books with color names in the titles - I've got green, red, and black already!

What's on tap for July?
Family vacation - 26 of the Round File extended brood will gather at Folly Beach for some sun and surf and probably, with all those people, some squabbling! Then it's Cub Scout Camp - for the very last time. This is Youngest's last year as a Cub Scout, next year he moves up to Boy Scouts and guess who doesn't move up with him? His mama. Hooray! So it will be quiet around here for just a little bit while I am on vacation - using that term loosely!

Monthly Update February 2010

Here's my progress on all things challenges for the month of February. If one catches your fancy and you want to know more, click on the button to see the post.

I have six of twenty completed for this challenge. I love audiobooks!










I'm at 9 of 26 on this one - well on my way to completion!









Another month has gone by and I did NOTHING, nada, zero, zilch....hanging head in shame. I think my stumbling block has been assuming that my daughter Bookworm would own the books and then when she didn't, I didn't want to buy them but I am library impaired so I just haven't gotten them in my hands yet. I saw a wrap-up post and thought I was out of time but I was wrong! There are still two months left - hooray!






I'm stuck at two for this one except that maybe Cleaving would qualify. She certainly liberates herself from the conventions of marriage. I'll have to poke around the Women Unbound site and see.







I got myself signed up for this one and have read three books that qualify, two I have already posted and then The French Mistress which I still need to write up.





I still have challenges I am hoping to sign up for...the People of Color challenge, the Memoir one, the Rainbow one, and before you know it, it will be time for the Spring Reading Thing.

I managed to post to a few memes this month. I got up a post for "Weekend Cooking" and for "What's On Your Nightstand", one for "Mailbox Monday" and another for the "Book List" meme. In a perfect world those would be links but I am typing fast since I am already a day late!!!

Finally, the giveaway, I hosted a giveaway for the Catholic edition of Chicken Soup for the Soul. It worked out quite nicely as I had just a few copies to giveaway and just a few folks who wanted one - so Mary, Beth, and Wanda, you all get one!

January Challenge Status

My intention for this year is to take a look at the end of each month at where I am with my challenges. I'm running short of time - who'd have thought! - so this one won't be nearly as pretty and linky as I envisioned but it's a start.

I have two of twenty completed for this challenge. I actually have one more done that needs to be posted and another almost finished. My audiobook challenge is in good shape.

I'm at 5 of 26 on this one - well on my way to completion!











This one seemed so fun and easy - why haven't I read a single book yet? Part of it is that I have to go and steal them from Bookworm's room. I'm sure she has most of the ones on my list but she hates to part with a book. I'm going to check out her stacks as soon as I post this since she is conveniently out of the house. I will be searching for Judy Blume books - I have two on my list, Wifey and Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. These would count for bermudaonions mini-challenge for February!







I've got two under my belt for this one as well. I don't know that I ever declared my intentions as far as the level of participation so not really sure how to gauge my progress. Better get that figured out before next month!






I have a couple of other challenges I have intended to join - a historical fiction one that should be a breeze since I read one HF selection each month for the Facebook book club. And, also the People of Color challenge - I've already read two that would fit and after the recent blogging about searching out books on POC, I want to make an effort to read a variety.
